Surge Protection

Power surges are impossible to predict, their causes including abrupt voltage spikes, electricity supply faults, defective household appliances, and thunderstorms. In some situations, even a little power surge may cause a mess on your electric systems, damaging them beyond repair.

Often power surges are a consequence of an interruption in the flow of electricity, subsequently established directing or again power back into the infrastructure, such as by lightning. How a surge protector works

The live cable or primary power line in a surge protector contains an additional linked connection that feeds to a ground cable. A ground wire’s purpose would be to direct any extra current safely into the ground. The surge connection in the shield remains inactive until a larger than normal voltage appears. This excess current is then safely diverted through the extra earth wire, directly into the floor. This averts more current than ordinary from flowing to your appliances efficiently ensuring they are protected from any harm which could result from power surges.
